Eligibility Requirements for the British Columbia Provincial
BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) eligibility requirements vary according to the application stream. British Columbia’s economy depends heavily on candidates’ skills, education, and work experience.
Various streams have been added to the BC PNP, including a Skills Immigration stream, an Express Entry BC stream, an Entrepreneur Immigration stream, and a Tech Pilot stream. In order to qualify for each of these streams, you must meet the following requirements:
1) Skills Immigration Stream:
- An eligible occupation must be offered by a BC employer.
- The occupation requires a certain level of proficiency in English
- For the occupation, the applicant must possess the necessary qualifications, education, and experience
2) Express Entry BC Stream:
- Valid Express Entry profile required by the federal government.
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class are the three Express Entry programs.
- An eligible occupation must be offered by a BC employer.
- The occupation requires a certain level of language proficiency.
- A person must possess the required qualifications, experience, and education to perform the job.
3) Entrepreneur Immigration Stream:
- At least CAD $600,000 in net worth is required.
- An investment of at least CAD $200,000 must be made in a new or existing business in British Columbia.
- A business owner or senior manager with at least three years’ experience is required.
- A Canadian citizen or permanent resident must be hired for each new job created
4) Tech Pilot:
- One of 29 eligible occupations in technology must have a job offer from a BC employer
- The occupation requires a certain level of language proficiency.
- In order to qualify for the occupation, you must have the necessary work experience, education, and qualifications.
- The BC PNP draw is not guaranteed to include individuals who meet the eligibility requirements. To be considered for a provincial nomination, candidates must still meet a minimum score.
