In the Pacific Ocean, New Zealand is an island country. There are two main islands in the country. Because of ancient volcanic eruptions, the beautiful scenery of New Zealand has internationally known thanks to the Lord of the Rings film series. With its rich mix of cultures, New Zealand is home to Maoris, Pakeha (Europeans of European descent), Asians, and Pacific Islanders.

In terms of national performance rankings, it is a developed country. Quality of life, health, education, and economic freedom are all considered in these rankings. Among the sectors of the national economy, the service sector is the most dominant.

How to Apply

As an international student, you will have to apply individually to each institution in New Zealand as there is no centralized application system. More information about specific requirements can be obtained from the institution that you choose to apply to. You are likely to be asked a variety of questions in general to provide proof that you can understand the language of tuition to a high enough standard, your academic transcript, and travel/health insurance for the duration of your studies.

Language

A trio of languages is officially recognized in New Zealand: English, Maori, and New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL). In 1987, Te Reo Maori became an official language. New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) became an official language in 2006, the main language of the deaf community.

The Maori language is in danger of extinction since only 3.7% of the population speaks it. To prevent this, authorities have implemented Maori classes in schools and television channels broadcast exclusively in Maori. You can learn some Maori and NZSL while immersing yourself in the historic culture of New Zealand.

English is the language of instruction in the majority of courses. It may be necessary to prove that your English skills will meet the standards of teaching if English is not your native language. You can improve your language skills by enrolling in a language program offered by an institution if you do not speak it. Auckland
New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, is located on the North Island. A large majority of the city’s residents are Polynesian, making it the most multicultural city in the world. Education, commerce, and the arts are among the areas in which Auckland is recognized as an important city. It is home to several tourist attractions, such as the Harbour Bridge and the Sky Tower.

Hamilton
Hamilton is the country’s fourth-most populous city, situated on the banks of the Waikato River. Captain John Fane Charles Hamilton, commander of HMS Esk, was named after the old Maori settlement after the English invasion. Education and research play an important role in the city’s diversifying economy. It was originally an agricultural service center. Approximately 40,000 students attend higher education institutions and 1,000 scientists hold PhDs in the city.
