What is it?

  • A Schengen visa allows you to travel to 27 European countries in the Schengen Area with one visa.
  • Mainly for tourism, visiting family/friends, or short business trips.

Who Needs It?

  • Travelers from countries that don’t have visa-free access to Schengen states.

Requirements

  • Valid passport (issued within the last 10 years, valid at least 3 months beyond stay).
  • Visa application form.
  • Recent photos (passport-size).
  • Travel insurance (min. €30,000 coverage).
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking/invitation).
  • Flight reservation or travel itinerary.

Validity & Stay

  • Typically valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
  • Can be single entry, double entry, or multiple entry depending on your purpose and travel history.

Important Notes

  • The visa doesn’t guarantee entry — border officers decide on arrival.
  • You must apply to the embassy/consulate of the country where you’ll stay the longest (or first entry point if stay is equal).
  • No work rights with a tourist visa.
